If you want to hire a landing page designer, the project almost always runs through the same five steps: brief, concept, build, check on desktop and phone, approval and launch. How long it takes depends less on the build than on your material: the goal and the one action, the offer with a price, copy or an existing page, real proof, the legal pages, and where the form sends its data. German providers among the first 15 Google results for the German search “landingpage erstellen lassen” in early November 2026 list starting prices between 899 euros net and 2,000 euros one-off, and turnaround times from under 24 hours with a complete brief to a few weeks. Domain and hosting come on top. The third option next to an agency and a freelancer is an AI employee that builds the page from your material, checks it, and only launches it after you approve.
My position is clear: the era of expensive websites and agency pages is over. My landing pages are built by Ralf, an AI employee who works for me from source material to the checked desktop and mobile version, this website included. How he works is on his page Build and Modernize a Website With AI. If you would rather build the page yourself, the building blocks and tools are in Create a Landing Page: Guide and Tools. If you need a whole website, read Getting a Website Built: Steps, Options.
Hire a landing page designer: the steps from brief to launch
Same process as for a website, only shorter: no navigation, no subpages.
Step
Who supplies it
What exists at the end
Where it usually stalls
1. Brief
you
one sentence on goal and action, offer, where visitors come from, material
"Make it look modern" instead of a goal
2. Concept
provider or AI employee
order of sections, headline, button, form fields, measurement point
design is discussed before anyone knows what gets counted
3. Build
provider or AI employee
the finished page with real content
copy and images do not arrive
4. Check
provider or AI employee, you take a look
phone and desktop checked, form actually submitted
only ever looked at on a large screen
5. Approval and launch
you approve
page live, measurement running
legal pages missing the day before launch
Ralf's team page shows the same process in four stages, with launch only after approval, and adds a condition for ad landing pages that applies to every provider: the ad promise, page content, and measurement point must be set before the build starts.
What you have to supply before anyone builds
The goal sentence. "On this page, X should happen, and we count Y." One action, one button, one number.
Who and from where. Who lands on the page and by which route: ad, email, profile link, or QR code. For an ad, its copy belongs in the brief.
The offer. What the visitor gets, what it costs, what happens after the click.
Proof. Real images, references with permission, results you can show.
Copy or raw material. Finished copy, an existing page, or bullet points. Settle who writes the final version.
Legal pages. Imprint, privacy notice, and consent before anything is stored on the visitor's device. This is not legal advice; the details for a commercial page in Germany are in Create a Landing Page: Guide and Tools.
Technology. Its own domain or a subpage of your existing site, where the form data goes, and who keeps access to domain and hosting.
Who approves. A name, not "the team".
Ralf's page draws the line like this: he takes on research, page concept, implementation, responsive checks, technical preparation, and a documented handover. You decide on positioning, new services, legal claims, sensitive customer data, and the actual launch.
How Ralf built three landing pages for me
An example from my own business, from October 22, 2026: three free downloads on kevinwelter.com each needed their own page as the target for ads, one of them a catalog of 140 tasks for AI employees. The brief came from Susi, my AI employee for Meta ads, the copy from Conny, my content editor-in-chief, and Ralf built the pages.
One of the three landing pages on launch day, desktop. No menu, form above the fold. Screenshot: kevinwelter.com, 22.10.2026
The brief was tight: no menu, no links except imprint and privacy, email field and button above the fold even on a small phone, a headline that repeats the ad, copy word for word from Conny's draft. Because the pages exist only for ads, they stay out of the search index.
The same page on a small phone: field and button before the image. Screenshot: kevinwelter.com, 22.10.2026
The checks ran before launch and once more after it:
every page in two phone sizes and one desktop size: headline, field, and button visible and not covered
the copy compared word for word against Conny's draft by a script
existing pages compared before and after, so nothing else changed
a separate review pass before launch
after launch, one real test sign-up per page through to the confirmation email, test data deleted afterwards
My request came in around 5 pm, with the approval to launch included. By 5:40 pm all three pages were live. It went that fast because fonts, colors, form, and newsletter connection of kevinwelter.com already existed, and the copy was finished. Ralf extended an existing website rather than starting from zero. A page with a new look takes longer; this example gives no number for that.
One detail shows what the limits are for: Ralf noticed that on another page the button sits below the screen edge on small phones. He changed nothing there, because the brief excluded that page, and reported the finding instead. The decision stays with me.
How long it takes to get a landing page built
Provider claims range from "in less than 24 hours", explicitly only with a complete brief, existing content, and free capacity, to "usually within a few weeks". The difference lies in the material and the approvals, not in the building. Hand everything over on day one and you get the fast version, with an agency as with an AI employee.
What it costs: agency, freelancer, or AI employee
The figures come from the providers' own pages, as of November 2026; the German providers quote in euros. A general breakdown of domain, hosting, and builder plans is in What Does a Website or Landing Page Cost?; this is only about the build.

What you get for it
Agency or studio
four German provider pages from the search results: from 899 euros net, from 1,499 euros plus VAT, from 1,500 euros, from 2,000 euros; one gives 1,500 to 3,500 euros as its usual range
domain and hosting; changes at one provider 125 euros per hour or 49 euros in a monthly package, plus VAT
a finished page, usually with a set number of revision rounds
Freelancer
quote by scope or hourly rate; no verified comparison figure here
domain, hosting, changes as agreed
one contact person, speed depends on their workload
AI employee Ralf
no project fee
Ralf as a ready-made template in the Premium tier of my community at 149 US dollars a month, or build him yourself in the Standard tier at 5 US dollars a month (founding offer for the first 50 members, as of October 29, 2026); plus your AI subscription, for example Claude Pro from 17 US dollars a month billed annually, excluding tax; domain and hosting
a role that takes on every further page and every change, with approval staying with you
A pure price comparison is lopsided. The agency delivers a finished page for its fee and carries the work to acceptance. With an AI employee you pay monthly for a role, not for a page, and you stay responsible for material and approval.
To be fair: an AI employee does not replace an agency when several departments have a say, the page hooks into a shop or inventory system, or nobody in the business has time to approve. For everything else, the expensive agency page is no longer the default.
How to spot a good quote
Six questions separate a quote from a guess:
How many revision rounds are included, and what does each extra one cost?
Who writes the copy, and who checks it against your offer?
Is the form actually submitted before launch, on a phone too?
What gets measured, and where do you see the number?
Whose name is the domain registered in, and do you get all the access?
What does a copy change cost after launch, and how fast is it done?
The same test applies to an AI employee: it should flag missing information rather than invent it. Ralf's team page states that as a rule: no service, price, or review is invented.
How much does it cost to hire a landing page designer?
At German agencies and studios, starting prices on the provider pages range from 899 euros net to 2,000 euros one-off, as of November 2026, plus domain, hosting, and later changes. With an AI employee you pay no project fee, but an ongoing fee for the role and your AI subscription.
How long does it take to get a landing page built?
From under a day to a few weeks, depending on whether your material is complete on day one. For me, three landing pages on an existing website were live about 40 minutes after the request.
What do I need to supply for a landing page?
Goal and measurement point, the offer with a price, copy or raw material, real proof, legal pages, the form's destination, and a name for the approval. For an ad landing page, the ad copy as well.
Can I have a landing page built with AI?
Yes. A generator turns a short prompt into a template; an AI employee like Ralf works from sources, checks the result, and launches only after your approval. More on generators in AI Website Generators Compared.
Where to go from here
Write your brief on one page: goal sentence, the one action, who and from where, offer, proof, legal pages, where the form sends its data, who approves. With that sheet you can collect quotes or hand it straight to an AI employee. Ralf and the other AI employees are available as tested templates in the Premium tier of my community AI Employee Framework. What comes after launch in maintenance and hosting is in Website Maintenance: Tasks, Checklist, Cost.
